Plastic Cups FAQ’s

Everything to know about our plastic cups from the sizes available and whether they’re recyclable or not.

Plastic cups are most commonly made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or polypropylene (PP) as they’re both durable, suitable for hot and cold drinks and generally recyclable. However there are other types available, such as plant based (PLA) plastic cups, which are biodegradable, further helping the planet.

We have a wide range of sizes available, allowing you to offer your customers small, medium and large drinks. Ranging from 9oz up to 22oz, we have all the cup sizes you need to satisfy your customers. 

Many plastic cups are recyclable, such as those made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or polypropylene (PP) and the majority of the plastic cups we have available are recyclable. However we also have some biodegradable options, which instead are designed to be put into compost heaps and absorbed back into the earth. 

You can put coffee and other hot drinks in a plastic cup, but it all depends on the plastic used to make the cup. Heat resistant plastics like polypropylene (PP) are suitable for hot drinks, however plastic cups made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) are designed for cold drinks and as such aren’t suitable for hot drinks as chemicals from the plastic may make their way into the drink.
